Starting next year, business licenses will not be renewed
for F&B operators who fail to obtain an A level certificate of hygiene for
their toilets. This new policy, announced by the Local Government Ministry
(KPKT) Minister Nga Kor Ming, will ensure that toilets at F&B premises such
as restaurants, coffee shops, and mamaks meet the cleanliness and fragrance standards a.k.a Bersih, Menawan dan Wangi (BMW) set by the KPKT.
Within the next three years, this policy will be expanded to
include 18,000 public toilets under the municipal and district councils.
